Hey, Team GA!
It’s news to no one to say that Georgia has a voter suppression problem.
Fortunately Voter Riders—an amazing voting rights org—has a plan to ensure that every voter has the information they need to cast a ballot that counts in 2022. They're organizing a Voter ID Month of Action, during which they’ll be holding three letter-writing events— on Wednesday April 6th, 7-8 EDT, Thursday April 14th, 7-8 EDT, and Thursday April 21st, 7-8 EDT.
Their goal is to have volunteers write 10,000 letters to voters in five states, INCLUDING Georgia!
Every letter will deliver essential information and assistance to the voters most likely to be disenfranchised by voter ID laws [cough cough BIPOC people.]
Voter suppression is no joke, and racist voter suppression is the worst kind of all. This is a really simple, easy way to help.
Please sign up for one of these letter-writing parties? They’ll tell you everything you need to do.
Thanks!
Jess
P.S. Vote Riders is also doing one-hour webinars on several different states’ current voter suppression laws and how they plan to tackle them. The one on Georgia is April 27, 3pm ET: Sign up here.
