Chop Wood, Carry Georgia 3/17 š
Hi, all, and welcome to anyone new to the list!
š§¹ Housekeeping first: the Georgia Master Doc, which has the below actions and EVERY OTHER WAY you can imagine to help in Georgia, is here! This is your go-to, must-bookmark-and-check-often resource. The below are just a few new and exciting additions.
OK. So. As you may or may not know, early voting for Georgiaās House District 45 Special Election began Monday for the April 5th election, followed by the statewide General Primary in May.
As you also may or may not know, this year's elections in Georgia will be the first conducted under Georgia's Jim Crow 2.0 voter suppression law.
The number one way to fight back is to take it upon ourselves to ensure that Georgia voters are well-informed about how to vote. That work begins now.
Soā¦
Please consider signing up to:
Attend SPLCās power hour on Thursday, March 24th, at 6:30 PMāa one-hour phonebank to DEMOCRATIC voters in Georgia, explaining to them how these new laws work and what theyāll need to do to be able to vote. Register here.
Write postcards into Georgia with Center For Common Ground, an organization focussed almost exclusively on helping Black and Brown votersāthe most voter suppressed in the stateāget to the polls. You will need to buy their postcards but itās easy to order them.

Or sign up to phonebank with Fair Fight for the special election and then the primaryāshifts are going fast!
Of course there are lots more ways to help in the docāincluding letter writing, donating to the best GA-based groups, and moreāso please. Letās all do one small thing to make sure that we knock it out of the park in the GA primariesā¦and in November!
More soon,
Jess
