Hey, Team Georgia!
Quick, super urgent email for you to send re: GA State Election Board actively working to make your elections less secure.Β
The Georgia State Election Board will be voting tomorrow on a set of extremely dangerous measures aimed at undermining election security. In short, their proposal would make the job of poll workers more labor intensive and complicated at the last minute, increasing the risk of ballot tampering and potentially delaying the release of election results. These changes are completely unnecessary, and have even been condemned by the Republican Secretary of State.
Send an email to the GA State Election Board to demonstrate how many people oppose these measures, and push them to reject the measure.Β

βIβm concerned about proposed changes to how votes are counted that threaten to weaken election security and the trust voters have in our elections. Please reject revisions to Subject 183-1-14-.02 (Advance Voting) and revisions to Subject 183-1-12-.12. (Tabulating Results).
I know that our elections are well-run now, and these revisions would only add to poll workersβ workload and add more steps to the election process β creating additional complications, room for errors, and space for distrust in our elections:Β
Introducing new procedures this close to Election Day would mean that new trainings have to be quickly developed and presented to poll workers. This would burden staff and potentially confuse poll workers.
The more people who handle ballots, the higher the risk of ballot tampering β even unintentional tampering would threaten the integrity of our elections and the faith voters have in them.
And forcing poll workers to unseal and count ballots before certification could delay the release of election results β delaying is one of the big things that causes people to distrust the results once theyβre released.
Please reject changes to vote counting procedures for Election Day and advance votes, and keep Georgiaβs elections secure. Thank you for your time.β
The Election Board meets tomorrow, so try to get this info to them ASAP. Thank you so, so much!
AND, if youβre located in Atlanta you can have an even greater impact by attending said meeting and testifying in person. Go to the State Capitol building tomorrow, September 20, at or before 7am (the earlier the better) to get your name on the list to testify.Β
Thanks, all. This is so important and also very last minute, so I appreciate anything you can do!
